A 2005 card graded PSA GEM MT 10, sealed in its blister
Sealed: kept in your collection

How it works

Four moves, from the wall to the battle.

Every card you own hangs sealed in your collection. A match opens the four you pick.

  1. 01

    Pick your six

Build a team of six cards from your collection. One card per species, and two restricted cards at most (EX, GX, ex and the like).

Species clause · 2 restricted max

  2. 02

    Choose your four

Team preview: you get two minutes to see the rival's six and to pick four of your own in secret. The first two you pick lead the match.

Try it: pick four, click a card again to put it back.

    Your six · Pick four

0 of 4 picked. The first two lead.

  3. 03

    Select your tools

Stick a tool on each of your four: eight tools on the shelf, one per card, no two alike. A tool heals, hits harder, speeds a card up or keeps it standing.

Your rival does not see them. They find out which ones you chose when they work.

8 tools · 1 per card · hidden from the rival

  4. 04

    Battle two on two

Two of your cards face two of the rival's, and your other two wait in reserve. Each turn, you give every active card one order: Attack, with the attack and its target; Protect; or Switch. Switches go first, then Protect, then attacks from the fastest card to the slowest. A hit on a card's printed weakness does double damage.

Try it: give MEWTWO its order for this turn.

Collection

Your collection, shown properly.

Each card hangs on your wall with the real photos from the vault and the grade copied from its label. Nothing is cropped, and a card stays sealed until it plays.

Rankings

Rankings and rivalry.

Follow the competition through the season and find the collectors you keep meeting. Rewards are cosmetic: a sticker on the blister, a badge on the board, a line in your record.

FAQ

Before you open anything.

Do my cards leave the vault?

No. The graded card stays in the vault for the whole match. What moves is its token: in an Arena match the slabs you stake go into escrow and the winner takes them all. A Practice match moves nothing. How a match is settled

Do I need a wallet?

Yes. Grailplay signs you in with a Solana wallet and reads which slabs are yours. The test match in the tutorial needs no sign-in, and staking a slab in the Arena needs the wallet that holds it.

Which cards can play?

Graded cards held in the vault with a PSA or CGC label. Any grade can play: a 1999 card, PSA NM 7, earns its place in a team as much as a 10.

What does a match look like?

Bring six, pick four, stick a tool on each, and battle two on two until one side has no cards left standing; every match has a replay. Read the rulebook

Does the grade make my card stronger?

No. Grade and value have no role in battle. Your card plays with the type, HP and attacks printed on it. The value (insured for Collector Crypt, market price for Phygitals) only decides which stakes can meet.

Is it free?

Joining and practicing cost nothing. An Arena match is played for slabs: you can lose the ones you stake. How stakes work

What happens when a blister opens?

Opening is how a card enters a match, or a stake. Your card itself stays in the vault, untouched; after the match it goes back on the wall with its new record, in the wallet of whoever won it.
